Availability
Inquiries for availability can be made by sending email or by phone (616-260-0238). I would love to speak with you about the dates you are requesting and be able to answer any questions. Rentals are usually Saturday to Saturday, but inquire for other times based on availability, or for a two night stay. Pets are possible, dogs only, but please inquire. Sorry, but there is no smoking allowed in the house.
A date reserved any time before the summer rental season or for the next year is considered an early booking. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required to hold any date in the future, and will apply towards the rate quoted for the week selected. By April of the current year half of the rent (less the initial $100 deposit) will be due, and the balance due two weeks before arrival. Your reservation is not confirmed until I receive your deposit.
When I have received any/all rent I will send you a confirmation email. Upon receipt of the final payment I will email you the security code for the front door’s keyless entry. This way you can arrive at your leisure.
Check-in time is anytime after 3 P.M. on your reserved date. Please plan to leave by 11A.M. of the morning of your departure. This allows you time for a leisurely breakfast and adequate time for preparation of the home for the next guest. A short list of your departure responsibility is posted in the kitchen (clean out the frig and take out the garbage, etc.). All linens and towels are laundered off-premises, so you have no need to do any more than the listed expectations.
Hang Your Hat is an all-inclusive home where you do not pay extra for cleaning, or need a security deposit for the place you will come to know as your "home away from home".
Non-Availability of Property
If for any reason beyond the owner’s control (i.e. fire damage, flooding), the property is not available on the date booked, all rent paid in advance will be refunded in full. The renter shall have no further claim against the owner.
Cancellations
If you need to cancel your reservation for any reason, please call me immediately. I will do my best to obtain a replacement guest, and if one is found I will refund all monies paid in advance. In the unfortunate event that a replacement is not found, the owner shall be entitled to retain all payments made to date.
